Overview

Endurant Solutions leverages advanced tools, models, and technologies to assist property owners, developers, municipalities, utilities, government agencies and industry experts with integrating new energy technologies into facilities to lower costs, manage energy commodity price risks and reduce carbon footprints. Endurant Solutions focuses on creating sustainable energy designs that attract private investment and build a foundation for future technologies that have excellent mainstream potential but may not yet provide sufficient rates of return. Our Solutions team works closely with both public and private sector organizations to form collaborative projects in fields such as sustainable development, district energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy procurement. Our work is targeted along three strategic lines of innovation: Energy Planning, Tools & Modeling and Technology Advantage.

Energy Planning

Endurant Solutions develops Master Energy Plans that provide:

a strategy for systematically improving energy system performance and lowering facility cost and carbon footprint
an overview of the impacts of various energy upgrade and retrofit alternatives and focuses limited resources on actions that can have the greatest impact
cost effective means of lowering a building’s carbon footprint, prioritize these opportunities, and establish a logical implementation strategy

A Master Energy Plan is a living document, updated periodically to track impacts and to reflect changing priorities, technology advancement, and shifting economic conditions. Endurant Solutions' latest Master Energy Plan was developed for the marquee Related Companies.

Tools & Modeling

Endurant Solutions conducts ongoing research and development to create and refine modeling tools for analysis of Co-Generation applications, district energy solutions and Master Energy Plans. Endurant Solutions tools are based on 8,760 hourly analysis and can be used to evaluate a variety of scenarios, including building and operating improvements, energy center improvements, carbon footprint reductions as well as pro forma economic and financing assessments. Endurant has the capability to model single buildings, district energy systems with multiple thermal and electric power circuits, and complex communities.

Technology Advantage

Perfect Power: Endurant Solutions is working with the Galvin Electricity Initiative to pioneer an innovative concept in power distribution network design that has the potential to redefine electrical networks around the nation and throughout the world. IMAT: Endurant is also working with the Galvin Electricity Initiative, among other partners, to develop advanced energy control technologies such as the Intelligent Monitoring and Trending (IMAT) system. IMAT uses advanced artificial intelligence algorithms for early fault detection to improve Co-Gen system reliability and operations. Endurant Solutions is also working on several other advanced controllers for dispatching on-site generation and controlling distribution in conjunction with real-time, demand response and other specialized electricity markets.

District Energy: District Energy is on-site generation scaled up from building-wide to community-wide production and distribution. DE systems offer great economies of scale, efficiency improvements and environmental advantages as well as fuel flexibility, reduced building capital costs and exceptional reliability.

With a grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), Endurant Solutions is a lead partner in an outreach campaign focused on District Energy for campuses in the northeast US. Endurant Development is actively pursuing the design and deployment of District Energy systems with a number of innovative property owners in conjunction with its on-site power and Co-Gen developments.
